Described by Malt Advocate Magazine as ‘A Living Legend of Bourbon,’ Lincoln Henderson is one of the world’s foremost authorities on brown spirits. Mr. Henderson spent 40 years at Brown-Forman after graduating from the University of Louisville, beginning as a grain chemist and eventually becoming master distiller/research fellow.

Mr. Henderson’s relationship with Suntory and his passion for Japanese whisky go back over 30 years. He has visited Japan countless times and he has carefully studied the Japanese distilling processes.

As master distiller, he was responsible for the quality of all new and maturing whiskies. In this capacity, he was also responsible for developing new whiskies and whisky line extensions for the U.S. and other countries.

Mr. Henderson is well known throughout the world as a leading expert on the production and maturation of whiskies. As a result of this recognition, he is judge for the International Wine and Spirit Competition in the United Kingdom, was inducted into the Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2001 and awarded the Malt Advocate Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.
